Facing one’s self is a deed

as long-reaching as planting a tree;

Reflections create roots

burying into the soul

travel arterial highways

embedding in the ground

from which we emerge

the same being

visibly

until the green shoot of a new idea

bravely makes itself known,

born from the trials

of navigating the deep,

strong from a foundation

of intertwined ponderings

hopeful in it’s reaching to the sun

as the reflection changes

transformed from what was

to who is now

and who one wants to be.
